OUR CORE SERVICES

Expungement Services
An arrest record can negatively impact your life. If you were convicted of an indictable or disorderly persons offense, your conviction is publicly accessible. Even charges that were dismissed or resulted in an adjudication of not guilty will still appear on your record.
Determining Eligibility
The first step is obtaining and reviewing your criminal record to determine:

-
Whether the appropriate amount of time has passed since your last conviction.
-
The type of conviction (indictable offense, disorderly persons offense, or municipal ordinance violation).
-
The total number of convictions incurred.
Eligibility depends on these factors.
How Long Do I Have to Wait?
You must wait a certain amount of time to expunge your record depending on the type of offense you were convicted of.
-
No waiting period: Dismissals.
-
1 year: Young drug offender (under 21).
-
2 years: Municipal ordinance violations.
-
3 years: Juvenile offenders (from the date of discharge from legal custody).
-
5 years: Indictable and disorderly persons offenses.
Types of Expungements
-
Expedited Expungements: Arrests not resulting in convictions, dismissals, or acquittals.
-
Recovery (Drug) Court: Expungement upon program graduation.
-
Marijuana Expungement: For eligible marijuana/hashish offenses.
-
Clean Slate Expungement: For longer records, 10 years after your last conviction, parole/probation completion, or fine payment (whichever comes later).
