Expungement Intake Form
Clearing your record is an important step toward a fresh start. In New Jersey, the expungement process can take anywhere from eight months to a year, depending on the complexity of your case and the court’s schedule. While it requires patience, the outcome is well worth it — a successful expungement can remove eligible arrests, convictions, and other records from public view, helping you move forward with confidence.

The process begins once your petition is filed with the Superior Court. The court will review your eligibility, notify relevant law enforcement agencies, and schedule a hearing if necessary. If granted, the court issues an Expungement Order, which directs state and local agencies to remove your record from their databases.

Although the wait can be lengthy, completing this process restores peace of mind and opens doors to new opportunities in employment, housing, and education. The investment of time today can lead to lasting freedom and relief for years to come.
